Despite being a lefty, Stewart was at least fair in interviews and ripped on both sides. In the few occasions I've seen Noah on TDS, I have never laughed at any of his bits. It's incredible. The guy is completely unfunny. I don't get how the show is still going.

Robert Barnes was talking about judges throwing out cases for "standing". From what he was saying, "standing" became a popular tool for judges that wanted to get out of having to see controversial cases. Sometimes even using it to lighten the load when they felt lazy.

I don't think it was a net minus for racial reasons. I think if he lost any votes for the program, it was because it was a massive program that directed hundreds of billions of dollars to a only subset of Americans. Big taxpayer-funded handout programs like that goes against the beliefs of many conservatives that disagree strongly on deficit spending.
Its effectiveness was also hurt because the media refused to discuss it. I bet the majority of black Americans didn't even know what the Platinum Plan was, because they rely on mainstream media for whatever information they get. You definitely wouldn't see it in your Android phone's Google News feed.
