I agree with this but I'd like to highlight the one flaw I see in this argument. It's a small one but the carrying capacity of those countries is exceeded and most of the world is much more corrupt than the US. That excess population can only make a change if they're in a fair economic system. Without that freedom, you can close off the borders or you can try to "help" but you won't see change.
We could look at it from a scientific perspective but I think it's most useful to look at it politically. Warp Speed was his baby, he deserves the credit, and he'd catch no end of hell for not taking his own vaccine. It also bursts the bubble that Biden is the bringer of the miracle (he's not and he should be shamed for attempting it).
It's a real virus that needs a real vaccine or effective treatment if possible. The risk/benefit calculation may not favor getting jabbed this time (or it might, idk, depends on the person) but it might be worse next time. Crap like this has a nasty habit of mutating so keep that in mind too. It's how this stuff is used and reported that's the issue, not the existence of vaccines or gene therapy whatever.
Let's not pretend what the states did with lockdowns and all their bullshit power grabs was noble. I'll take the downvotes all day but I called DeSantis out for his bullshit and I'll keep doing it. Anyone who steps to me with "for your good" or some version of that argument can choke on the constitution they use as toilet paper.
I don't really see a lot of them getting mad tho and the media is putting out fluff piece after fluff piece. I don't feel strongly about it either way, just saying that they did this for 8 years with Obama and it worked.

I know you know this but the "different" source is sometimes another news channel who "verified the story" and it sometimes comes down to one "leak" when the whole bullshit operation is put on paper and traced. Examples: yellow cake, a metric assload of hoaxes, trump scandal #30131131...whatever we're at. That's even assuming they bother to put themselves in hot water claiming it's independently verified. They usually just report the story and all hide behind one operative leaking stuff who can't be found (ie steele comes to mind). I'm not disagreeing with you, just adding context to people who may be new or whatever.
I can't say I do. I personally know people who took this virus like it was nothing. I also met people with severe brain damage after this virus. I also know of people who died because of it. And I personally know of one person who passed out in their RV after quarantining themselves. They could barely lift their arm and couldn't get out of bed when I went to see them. They weren't faking it. I can't say that I thought of recording them at the time to back up an internet argument but I take their word on passing out. It's also in the literature about this virus. People don't just get weak or pass out from this virus. They sometimes happen to go into comas. Idk what else to tell you. I'm sorry that the chinese ran a disinfo campain on the world, I'm sorry that some/many scientists and doctors lied to you for political or personal reasons and now it's hard for you to tell up from down. But this is a real virus. It makes people weak, it messes up lungs, it pops vessels in the brain, and it's a nasty piece of genetic engineering. And for 60+% of the population, it's nothing. I doubt I met the only person to pass out from covid which is why I hypothesize that it wouldn't be hard for a government to put some reel together of people really sick with covid but I can't pass any judgement on that beyond telling you it's part of medical literature on the virus. That's my ranting context, thanks for reading.
It happens in the context of covid. It's pretty rare, like you said. The thing that disgusts me a lot about the propaganda and bullshit surrounding covid is that it buries truth everyone really should know even as a factoid (at a minimum because they'll be making decisions about their health and economy based on that).
