One coastal redwood consumes 500,000 pounds of CO2 per year, so...

(Redwood/500k lb CO2) ( 2000 lb CO2/ Ton CO2)(500k Ton CO2/plant) = 2000 Redwoods/ Plant

Then... 40 redwoods per acre

So, 50 acres of coastal redwoods will consume as much CO2 per year as this plant.

They wouldn't have a million bucks from the sale to invest. A person can only shelter 250k and a married couple 500k from federal cap gains tax. And don't know about Colorado but in California capital gain income from sale of a personal residence is subject to state income tax as regular income.

And a good portion of the so called capital gain is because there is no inflation indexing of the basis.

I think the 70K is what is available for college loan repayment.

4k is what is available annually for college courses taken while serving on active duty.

Full ride is Post 9/11 GI Bill. Pays full college tuition for an in state student at most expensive public university in the state for 36 months(4 academic years.) Or around 27k/yr for 4 academic years at a private university. Also pays tax free BAH(Housing Allowance) at E-5 with dependents rate, varies according to zip code of university, for 36months, 4 academic years.

https://militarypay.defense.gov/calculators/rmc-calculator/

Post 9/11 GI Bill Benefits vest at 36 months service. For those who did commission with an rotc scholarship or at a service academy, the 36 months do not begin to accumulate until completing the initial service obligation for the rotc scholarship(4 years) or service academy(5 years.) And for loan repayment, 36 months to vest Post 9/11 GI Bill benefits don't begin to accumulate till after 36 months service to pay off loan repayment program.

There is also the VA Yellow Ribbon program that can be very valuable paying for professional school degrees, MBA, Law etc., which are usually loan rather than grant financed.

A recruit with a college degree doesn't make more unless he enlists with an OCS option and after he completes basic enlisted training then completes OCS and commissions as a 2nd lieutenant. (The Army is the only service branch where officers commissioning through OCS first attend enlisted basic training.)

The 2nd lieutenant's basic monthly pay is then apparently $3637/month, however his total monthly pay could be much more in high housing cost areas because all officers are entitled to live off base and collect BAH(tax free housing allowance.)

For instance just plugged the zip code for Wheeler Field in Hawaii 96854 for a freshly commissioned single 2nd lieutenant(O-1) into the regular military compensation calculator...

https://militarypay.defense.gov/calculators/rmc-calculator/

Monthly basic pay is $3637.20.

Monthly tax free BAH is $2859.

Monthly tax free food allowance is $311.68

Total yearly regular military compensation is $86,882.95

The issue with the current FBI building is that pieces of the unfinished concrete facade are falling off. This was happening about 25 years ago to Evans Hall, the tallest and ugliest building on the Berkeley campus and home to Berkeley's world renowned Mathematics and Economics Departments....

..... about the same vintage as the FBI building...

https://i.imgur.com/9tIRNDA.png

..... well four years older 1971 v 1975, similar brutalist concrete facade; pieces were falling off due to a rusting frame.

The frame and concrete facade were repaired for a cost of about 2 million dollars and the building was painted, so an additional 20 years of service, so far, a cost of about $100,000 per year.

It is not as if no one in the Biden Admin knows there is a low cost repair available for the current FBI building, after all, while Janet Yellen's Office was in Haas(Business School), her Econ Nobel Laureate husband's office was in Evans.
