The Biden administration will tell us that predatory corporate practices rather than harmful government practices are the cause of inflation and subsequently move to implement price controls, ushering in full-blown socialism.
It didn't even require that big of a step: All he had to do was agree not to station NATO weapons along the eastern border of Ukraine. That's literally what Russia was asking for in the six months of negotiations prior to the outbreak of hostilities. In fact, Russia had begun pulling their troops back when Ukraine threatened to nuke them. That's what lead to an immediate attack. There has never been a clearer case of FAFO.
The use of the word "margin" implies the holdings are on file with a brokerage, which would indeed mean they're shortable. However, founders frequently hold their shares in their own name, which would mean they are not marginable and he's merely using them as collateral for a loan. Frankly, either is possible since reporting isn't very accurate these days and you shouldn't blindly trust shit you read on twitter.
Not at all. Again: Elon cannot lend them to other people. Schwab or whoever holds the shares in street name are not typically borrowing against the value of the shares to lend to Elon: They're borrowing against the value of the note Elon implicitly owes them by holding a margin account and borrowing against it. The shares could go to zero and the brokerage still makes money on paper. Your note about naked shorting doesn't even make sense since the term "naked" only applies when no shares are being borrowed against to begin with. Sounds like you've been lurking on some gamestop forums and have heard a few terms but have some more learning to do. (Which is fine - I'm glad you're learning. I'm just pointing out that there's more left.)
Again: The fact that Elon has borrowed against his own stock has no immediate bearing on the price of that stock. This isn't 4D chess. It's not sticking it to Gates. At best it's sticking it to the tax man a little bit, but that's purely hypothetical.
There's no such thing as hate speech.
