Alphabet is kind of a tough Big Tech company to avoid, but I do at least use the Brave browser on my PC, so they block all Youtube ads and block a lot of ads from other sites. It really saves time, you can see those YouTube videos immediately and without interruption.

Why doesn't Parler have a search feature? You can only search users names and hashtags. How would you know a hastag if you're not searching out topics. You only see their hashtags. It's like they want to fail. Seems very much like a controlled opposition site, but it's better than nothing. Gab's search is slightly better, but still not like twitter. Gab's stress testing their site of not relying on anything from big tech or big anything, by necessity, is a better long term approach.
Love the Brave browser. It totally blocks Youtube advertising, not that I'm against it for the users I watch, but it's a great time saver. I do have chrome browser that I use sparely. But brave is what I use for the majority of time. Duckduckgo for search engine, as Google search is useless, if I have to use a 'mainstream' search engine it's Bing, they are slightly less corrupt at this time.
